Pete Hayes is a founder and partner of the firm and former Vice President and Regional Manager of The Codman Company's Providence, Rhode Island office. Mr. Hayes joined Codman in 1983 as a member of the Boston brokerage group. 

 

Mr. Hayes has negotiated office, industrial, land and retail sales and leases in his thirty-two years in the business. Major transactions with the following companies include General Electric, IGT, Women & Infants Hospital, Fidelity Investments, Citizens Bank, AMICA, Atrion, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Progressive Insurance, Boston Financial Data Services, General Motors Corporation, AT&T, ITT, Prudential Insurance Company and American Arbitration Association. 

 

Sales transactions include the $43,000,000 sale of the 52-acre IGT World Headquarters campus in West Greenwich, RI; the $1,600,000 sale of 225 Service Avenue in Warwick, RI for General Electric to First Bristol Corporation for redevelopment into a multi-million dollar corporate office campus; the $22,300,000 sale of the 140,000 square foot Providence Washington Plaza in Providence, RI; the $8,750,000 sale of 106 acres for the development of 291 "age restricted" residential units, a marina and retail in Tiverton, RI; the $6,950,000 sale of the 192,000 square foot Westminster Square Building in Providence, RI; the $6,000,000 sale of Davol Facility in Cranston, RI; and the $9,375,000 sale of Hunt River Commons shopping center, North Kingstown, RI. 

 

Lease transactions include the original Capital Grille lease in 1989 and the new lease and relocation in 2015; First Data, 115,000 square feet; Amgen, 93,000 square feet; Fidelity Investments, 185,000 square feet; GTECH, 170,000 square feet; Locke Lord Edwards, 90,475 square feet; American Arbitration Association, 41,000 square feet; Women & Infants Hospital, 40,000 square feet; and Brown University, 39,000 square feet. 

 

Mr. Hayes is an active member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), and a New England SIOR Board Director and its past President for 2005 and 2006. 

 

Mr. Hayes is a member of the Board of Directors with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rhode Island Chamber of Business & Industry; an incorporator with The Providence Foundation; on the Board of Directors with the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC); a member of the Rhode Island Commodores, and former Advisory Board Member and mentor for YearUp Providence. He is a 1978 graduate of St. Lawrence University and is its former Rhode Island Alumni Club President.

Karl F. Sherry, founding partner of the firm, has personally negotiated the sale and lease of millions of square feet of space since forming Hayes & Sherry Real Estate Services in 1990. As exclusive representative for several Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Sherry includes Fidelity Investments, UBS, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI, University Medicine, New York Life, Brown University, Merrill Lynch, Ernst & Young, Textron, Delta Dental of Rhode Island and Pitney Bowes among his clients. 

 

Prior to forming Hayes & Sherry Real Estate Services, Mr. Sherry had extensive experience in sales originally with The Campbell Soup Company and later as a National Sales Manager with The A.T. Cross Company. 

 

Recent lease transactions include: University Medicine in East Providence, 72,000 square feet; Edwards Wildman, LLP in Providence, 78,000 square feet; Partridge Snow & Hahn in Providence, 30,000 square feet; Delta Dental of Rhode Island, 31,000 square feet; Adler Pollock & Sheehan in Providence, 46,000 square feet; UBS, 12,000 square feet; Merrill Lynch, 19,000 square feet; Nortek, 30,000 square feet; and Ernst & Young, 12,000 square feet. 

 

Mr. Sherry's sales transactions include the $13.5 million sale of 475 Kilvert Street in Warwick; $17.75 million sale of the Turks Head Building in Providence; $7.75 million sale of 170 Westminster Street in Providence; $6 million sale of 10 Charles Street in Providence; $6.25 million sale of 745 Jefferson Boulevard (Leviton Property) in Warwick; and the $6.5 million sale of the Colonial Crossing Shopping Center in Cumberland. 

 

Mr. Sherry is an active member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He is the Chairman of the Board of Blackstone Health, Inc. a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delta Dental of Rhode Island and the Altus Group, Inc.; a member of the Board of Directors of the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club; a Director of The Memorial Hospital Foundation in Pawtucket; a member of the Rhode Island Commodores; a member of the Board of Directors of In-Sight; and has served in different capacities for various charitable organizations throughout Rhode Island including Chair of the LaSalle Academy Inaugural Scholarship Dinner, and a Director of the Pawtucket Foundation. Mr. Sherry has also served as an admissions advisor to Boston College where he graduated in 1977.
